This was July 2008

July sees a lot of work for existing clients: big presentations for Mensura, creative work for Domo and Samsung, a big event for WWF. After loosing the pitch for Groen! (the Flemish green party) in January, they are now back, and this time to stay.

Also coming back, and hopefully also to stay: Alexandros Stergialis, who used to be an account at GERMAINE, before leaving for DG Antwerp en Kunstmaan. Now he’s back to reinforce our structure, after the rush of all the new clients since the beginning of the year.

Out: Lindi.

Apart from pitches for the Belgian Road Safety Institut, a school in Vilvoorde and Bond Beter Leefmilieu, nothing much happens on the newbizz front. Apart of course from not winning Nuon, something we hear on the road to Cannes where we have rented a space for the whole agency.

Speaking of space, our pop-up bar in the Military Hospital area opens up, and is an instant success.

But it’s not all fun: Geerard leaves us for a job at DG

Luckily, Tim joins us, together with Pieter and Alexis.

Oh, and baby Ozark is born.

After a rather horrible production process and difficult shoot, we can air the first work for Tele2

For the rest: a calm month, apart of course from the continuing Nuon pitch. Oh, and a new client: Procter & Gamble, for internal motivation projects?

This was April 2008

In April, we launched a new campaign for the Belgian Road Safety Institute

And we went back in pitch modus: still Nuon, in what was becoming a fast and furious rollercoaster experience of a pitch. And secondly, Q8, in one of the great pitches of the first half year, against DGA, Famous, and TBWA. We stepped out of the Cultuurnet pitch though.

Also first contacts with Samsung and first work for Domo.

All quiet on the people front. Or so it seemed.

Are Belgians terrorists?

When I saw this, I wondered? How did the agency sell this do the client? I don?t find this shocking, don?t get me wrong. This is an amusing campaign and no sane person would find this offensive or dangerous in nature? But in this case, the client is obviously the Dutch government. Won?t they get into trouble?

An army of supposed terrorists warn the Dutch people for the dangers of their traditional New Years Eve fireworks. The L.A.A.F. joined forces with neighbouring Belgium, since they provide the Dutch with illegal fireworks.

March was a rather calm month, at least pitch-wise. But of course there was a lot of work for our clients. Like visiting all the ports of Flanders.

Like launching a new wave of Mensura ads.

And yes, there was the start of this one pitch we really would have liked to win, but lost: Nuon.

This was February 2008

February was retail month: we pitched on Profile Tyre Center (and won), and came up with a strategic and creative proposition for Lidl which we never heard of again.

We had our first presentation for De Tijd, which was to become a client later on.

We lost pitches too: Belim for instance, and Bel Company and Chiquita.

Our last campaign for IKEA rolls out
