Na een uitgebreide consultatieronde met een 5-tal agentschappen besloot GAIA scheep te gaan met mixed media bureau Gonzales. De keuze voor een eerder interactief georiënteerde speler is niet zo verwonderlijk omdat GAIA zich met een social media aanpak en een vernieuwde website meer op onontgonnen on line terrein wil begeven. De dierenrechtenorganisatie voelt zich ook gesterkt door het feit dat Gonzales sinds verleden jaar deel uitmaakt van GERMAINE en beroep kan doen op MIGRAINE, de strategische cel van dit bedrijf. Gonzales zal niet enkel voor een on line strategie tekenen maar voor de totale communicatie van GAIA dat elk jaar weer zorgt voor een aantal opzienbarende acties voor dierenwelzijn.

Is this where we are going with this? Ad-block apps, we’ve seen. This firefox plug-in replaces banners with tweets from your network. The tweets you’ll see are related to the content of the page whose ads it’s blocking. Not your average ad-blocker huh. Should this become standard, there’s maybe still a way to get around this: Brands could be putting enough social content out there, with enough followers, so that the banner space will be filled with their message/ brand anyway.
